Well.....I know it seemed that we have fallen off the face of the earth! We did not....we are just in the bellows of the medical dramas with our little princess!
Here is the latest update as of today...
Today marks day #8 at Dell Children's Medical Center. No word idea yet as to when we are going to be able to break out of here. We are still on two IV antibiotics (Cipro and Rocephin). We have many doctors following her right now...including 4 different specialists and a group of Resident docs. We are still hopeful to go home sometime this week with her central line....I will just continue to give her the IV antibiotics at home.
We now know that her one kidney that she still has working is full of fluid (hydronephrosis) and just won't go down. Her right kidney, that no longer is functioning, is also filled with fluid. There is talk of some surgery now...from re-implanting her ureters to different spots on her bladder to some feeling that the right kidney needs to be removed. Also....they are going to look again to see if her spinal cord is tethered. If it is, we will be doing more spine surgery....ugghhhh!
Soooooo..........30 hours so far NO FEVER! Yay! Lots of tests still in our future! Hopefully we are on the road to mend! More to come soon!
